Five ways you can participate in Firewise

Things you can do around your home and property:

Number One

Assess your home and property for wildfire risk

Download and print the Homeowner Risk Self Assessment form and fill it out. Not only will it provide a risk assessment score, it can also inspire small and big improvements you can make to your home and property.

Number Two

Learn about the Home Ignition Zone and how to create a defensible space

Number Three

Make improvements to your house and property and track the hours.

This last part is very important! In order for us to get recognized as a Firewise community, we need to reach a minimum of hours per community that is spend on getting educated and making improvements. You can submit your hours via the link below. If you hire someone to do the work for you, please submit the time they spend here as well.

Things you can do for the community:

Number Four

See if any of the neighbors you know could use a hand.

Some members in our community might not be able to make improvements themselves. Inform them about the Firewise program and offer to help them. Make sure you submit these hours as well!

Number Five

Help us grow the Firewise program

If you’re interested in volunteering with the program to get things organized, or if you offer a service that could benefit community members in making their home and property Firewise, we would love to hear from you. Use the link below to contact us!
