About Corbett Firewise
At the initiative of local Fire Marshall Dave Flood, a local Firewise chapter was started in late spring of 2022 with the goal to serve the Northeast Multnomah County communities of Corbett, Springdale, Aims, Latourell, Bridal Veil, and Larch Mountain.
Dave gathered several passionate community members that formed a board and had an inaugural board meeting on May 24th, 2022 - the official start of the Corbett Firewise chapter.
Since then Corbett Firewise met with partner organizations and governmental agencies, involved them in several public meetings to inform the community and get people to participate, and started collecting participating community members’ hours. So far, it looks like we’re on track to meet - and hopefully exceed - the required hours for this year to get us recognized as a Firewise Community!
We’re looking forward to getting many more community members involved, work on a plan for the coming years, and together reduce the impact of wildfires.
